Naclares y Prieto

Niet een uitbreiding die we nodig hadden, maar wel heel graag wilden hebben! Alberto Nanclares en Silvia Prieto maken transparante, door de Atlantische Oceaan beïnvloede wijnen, voornamelijk met Albariño van oude wijnstokken rond het dorp Cambados. Door gebruik te maken van biologische landbouwmethoden en een ingetogen hand in de kelder, hebben de twee iets heel zeldzaams voor elkaar gekregen. Ze vertolken als geen ander het terroir naar hun wijnen. Alberto en Silvia bezitten momenteel zo'n 2 hectare Albariño in Val do Salnés, allemaal in de traditionele Pergola-stijl en verdeeld in 13 kleine percelen. Ze werken ook samen met bevriende druiventelers. Overige Albariño komt van nog 33 verschillende plots, van 16 verschillende telers. En de rode Caíño, Mencía, Espadeiro en Loureiro van 1 hectare totaal, verdeeld over 14 plots en 9 telers. 

Review

To keep the volume of the 2022 Alberto Nanclares, they had to sacrifice the Paraje Mina, Crisopa and Coccinela bottlings and add them to this cuvée. They are very careful with the environment in their vineyards; they do not use herbicides or chemical products. In 2022, they got very low yields, even if it was a healthy year. The wine has more weight; it's round and tender, with integrated acidity. 7,200 bottles were produced. In 2023, the situation will be even more dramatic. They didn't bottle any of the single-vineyard wines and only managed around 4,000 bottles of Alberto Nanclares because of the problems with mildew. 93/100 Luis Gutiérrez

The super expressive 2021 Alberto Nanclares is the blend of different vineyards fermented and matured in stainless steel (73%) and oak. It represents the blend of their vineyards, mostly inland, that are not bottled separately. It has a moderate 11.5% alcohol and a developed and complex nose, with hints of nettle, wet granite and moss. It's tasty, balanced and long. Some 8,000 bottles were produced. 94/100 Luis Gutiérrez
