Comarcal oftewel Lokaal. Dat is precies wat de wijnen zijn. Een goede referentie van waar ze vandaan komen en gemaakt door de juiste twee mannen die de regio goed kennen. Er kwam net voor de kerst een e-mail met leuk nieuws. Comarcal wordt uitgebreid en staat nu los van Javi Revert's eigen wijnen en label. Fris design, wijngaarden met een verhaal en de ongekend fijne stijl van Javi maken deze wijnen een hele goede combi tussen prijs en kwaliteit. Delmoro groeit iets, in kwaliteit alleen maar, en Lafont komt nu ook vanuit een nieuwe 2.5 ha. grote wijngaard waardoor er meer karakter is gegarandeerd. En we krijgen de nieuwste Grillat. Een vertolking van kalkrijk zand en een pure manier van wijnmaken op beton. De houtrijping verdwijnt hier maar het plezier zeker niet! Vanaf maart 2023!

Review:

The red Delmoro has been renamed to 2023 La Comarcal Tinto, as it's the last year it will be a village wine from Venta del Moro. The blend has been fine-tuned, with a little more Garnacha and less Syrah, 80% and 20% respectively. Most of the Garnacha comes from a four-hectare plot planted in 1987 in the lieu-dit of Guindal. 2023 saw a slow but gradual transition toward cooler temperatures, and they also looked for more shadow in the grapes and harvested earlier, which allowed them to keep the freshness and crunchiness in the grapes. They fermented the varieties separately with 50% full clusters; the Garnacha stays in stainless steel and the Syrah in concrete for five months before being blended. It has a pale color, and it's aromatic, fresh and light, more Garnacha than Syrah, with very good freshness, juicy and easy to drink. Great value too. It has 13% alcohol and a pH of 3.45. 25,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2024. This wine will change in the 2024 vintage and will be produced with grapes from Font de la Figuera. 92+/100 Luis Gutiérrez

La Comarcal is a side project of winemaker Javi Revert with a friend. It's a négoce project for export (and Valencia) that is gravitating more and more toward the village of Font de la Figuera. They produced a total of 65,000 bottles in 2024.
