Foradori
Review
The 2022 Pinot Grigio Fuoripista displays pink and orange hues while wafting up with a delicate blend of wild strawberries and minty herbs. It’s soft textured with a core of zesty acidity and sour citrus tones to balance as crunchy orchard fruits cascade across the palate. This leaves a caking of minerality through the long, tension-filled finale as a liquid floral staining slowly fades. The 2022 is a refined example of Pinot Grigio Fuoripista, which may actually benefit from a few more years in bottle. 91+/100 Eric Guido
The Foradori style continues to evolve year after year. The wines have gained a level of purity and energy seldom seen, all while retaining fantastic complexity. The new releases are already so enjoyable that it’s hard to recommend waiting, yet they possess a balance that will reward patience. A bottle of wine rarely makes it from my tasting table to my dinner table, but that’s exactly what happened this year after tasting the 2022 Teroldego Sgarzon. This is just one mention, yet all of the wines this year showed beautifully, including the Teroldego Granato. Watching this bottling evolve from an internationally styled wine only a decade ago to one that’s built on pure varietal character has been fascinating–and all while it retains a depth that will reward long-term cellaring. Today, Foradori is managed by brothers Emilio and Theo, along with their sister Myrtha Zierock, who has brought a new level of polyculture into their biodynamic vineyards.
