SOIL: Mainly clay loaded with flint and limestone.
SUBSOIL: Campanian chalk at different depth.
VINIFICATION: 100% oak barrels from 350 to 600 liters. No fining or filtration.
AGING: Natural corks for 10 years.
DOSAGE: Extra Brut – 2g/L

Jean-Marc Sélèque

Na het afronden van zijn opleiding is 2008, werkt Jean-Marc in de kelder van het familiebedrijf. De oude manier van werken heeft geen positieve werking gehad op het bodemleven, dus besluit hij in 2010 geheel biologisch te werken. De percelen liggen in zeven verschillende dorpjes op het “drie landen punt”, omringd door de regio’s Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims en Vallée de la Marne. De champagnes zijn voorzien van energie, verfijning, precisie en een super elegante mousse.

A blend of Sélèque's favorite barrel from each of his parcels every year, intended to reflect the vintage conditions across the ensemble of his holdings, the 2016 Extra-Brut Partition unwinds in the glass with complex aromas of citrus pith, white flowers, pear and blanched almonds. Medium to full-bodied, deep and chalky, with racy acids and a fine-boned, classically proportioned profile, it concludes with a long, saline finish. It's a terrific wine that I suspect will only go from strength to strength with bottle age. 2016 - 95/100 William Kelley
